Project 180 gives men leaving prison a place to live, help finding work and a community designed to reduce recidivism. “Second sentence: Housing after prison” follows one resident as he works to stay sober and build a life beyond incarceration.
When you walk out of the gates of prison, there’s a 66% chance you’ll be rearrested within three years.
In Sarasota, Florida, Scottie Harville is challenging that statistic with help from Project 180, a residential program. Scottie lives in a transitional home, finds a job, works to stay sober and make friends — but others aren’t so lucky.
When men walk out of prison’s gates and become part of Project 180, the three-year recidivism rate drops to 11.35%. Watch to see how Project 180 and Scottie are trying to break the recidivism cycle.

Our goal is to reduce the impact of repeat offenders upon public safety, public spending, Florida families and individual lives.
